Kirsty & Marek – A Summer Celebration at Clearwell Castle

At the height of summer, with sunlight streaming through the trees and the soft stillness of June in the air, Kirsty & Marek were married at the majestic Clearwell Castle in the Forest of Dean.

Kirsty’s bridal bouquet was designed to feel romantic and natural, in a soft and dreamy palette of whites, blush pinks and powdery blue - a palette that gently echoed the sky and the season.

The design was elegant and trailing, shaped with sustainable, foam-free techniques, and filled with flowers that felt both luxurious and light.

We leaned into the abundance of British summer flowers, building the bouquet around pale blush garden roses, delicate sweet peas, frothy ammi and gently ruffled stock. Sprigs of cynoglossum and nigella brought in those whispery blue tones, while soft pink agrostemma and larkspur added movement and depth. Each stem was carefully chosen to celebrate the season — many of them grown locally, all chosen for their natural beauty and fleeting summer charm.

Among the florals, nestled subtly toward the back of the bouquet, was something a little unexpected: a single Gloriosa lily - vivid, sculptural and full of meaning. It was a personal nod to Marek’s South African heritage, a quiet detail that made the bouquet uniquely theirs.

For the wedding party, we created looser, gathered posies that reflected the same seasonal feel. Roses in shades of blush and soft ivory sat alongside veronica, scabious pods, and delicate trails of eucalyptus and nigella, adding just the right amount of texture without feeling fussy.

The whole scheme came together to feel timeless and romantic — the kind of florals that belong in a setting like Clearwell Castle, but still felt personal and full of story.

It’s always such a privilege to be part of these moments — and even more so when we get to honour the season, the couple, and their roots in a single bouquet.
