Our First Hand-Tied Bouquet Flower Workshop in Thornbury, Bristol Was a Hit!
On the evening of the 14th of August 2024, we hosted our first ever hand-tied bouquet workshop at The Chantry Community & Arts Centre in Thornbury, Bristol and it turned out to be a great success!
We had 10 students join us, ready to dive into the world of floristry. The atmosphere was laid-back and fun, with everyone eager to learn and get creative with flowers. The workshop kicked off with the group observing a demonstration of the skills in spiralling flower stems into a bouquet, hand-tie it, and even create an aqua pack to keep the flowers fresh.
Once the demo was done, it was time for everyone to try it themselves. The students got to pick from a selection of seasonal flowers and a range of colour palettes, so each bouquet ended up looking unique. There was no pressure—just a chance to enjoy working with flowers and seeing what they could create.
As the evening went on, the students added the final touches to their bouquets by choosing from a variety of ribbons to tie around them - as well as learning the magic trick of how to put water into an aqua pack!
In the end, everyone walked away with a beautiful bouquet to take home and a new skill under their belt. I had such wonderful, enjoyable evening with evening and loved seeing creativity flowing - I was thrilled to see how much everyone got out of it and the smiles and feedback as people left the workshop with their gorgeous creations!
We're already planning the next workshop and can’t wait to see more people get involved. If you’re looking for a fun way to spend an evening and learn something new, keep an eye out for our future events by visiting www.jrfloristry.co.uk/workshops!
