Polina & Fabian – Sculptural Simplicity: Modern Wedding Flowers at The Orangery, Tortworth Court

Some weddings call for maximalism. Others, like Polina & Fabian’s at The Orangery at De Vere Tortworth Court, shine in quiet, sculptural simplicity.
This was a celebration rooted in modern, minimalist floral design — where every flower was chosen for its form, tone, and meaning, rather than quantity.
Set against the light-filled backdrop of The Orangery’s glass ceiling and ornate stonework, we leant into a clean, refined palette of white, blush pink and pale blue, punctuated with fresh green and a few unexpected botanical details.
A Minimal, Meaningful Bridal Bouquet
Polina’s bouquet was designed to feel contemporary and editorial, but still romantic. We used creamy reflexed roses to bring softness and fullness, paired with pale anthuriums for a smooth, architectural contrast.
Nestled among them was something truly unique - a single Spathiphyllum stem, more commonly known as a peace lily. It’s not a flower you’ll usually find in a bridal bouquet - in fact, it isn’t grown commercially as a cut flower at all. But this one had been nurtured over many months especially for the day, its subtle green bloom chosen as a personal nod to Fabian’s heritage. The green tone appears only at the final stage of the flower’s life - a fleeting detail, and all the more special for it.
Sculptural Florals with a Fresh Twist
Throughout the ceremony and reception, we echoed that sculptural feel with anthuriums, gomphrena and the bright green spikes of Moluccella (Bells of Ireland). Each bloom added texture and form without overwhelming the space - the perfect balance for a couple who valued intention and simplicity.
The reception tables were styled with fresh limes and pears nestled between florals to offer an extra layer of texture and natural scent. This simple addition added a beautifully tactile, sensory element - slightly unexpected, but wholly fitting for a couple with a strong eye for detail.
Personal Touches & Lasting Impressions
We added a few extra touches to make the reception styling feel completely personal. Delicate lettering with Mr & Mrs and the couple’s names was hand-placed onto a selection of anthurium blooms, scattered thoughtfully across the dinner tables - a subtle but striking detail that caught the light and drew the eye.
This wedding was a perfect reminder that minimal doesn’t have to mean plain. With thoughtful design, considered textures and a little space to breathe, modern floristry can feel just as romantic and emotive as more traditional styles - just in a different voice.
